Wallets, Vaults & True Ownership
Warped integrates with the SUI blockchain, giving players the option of true digital ownership of their cosmetic items. This system is entirely optional — you can enjoy the full game without ever interacting with blockchain features.
The Two-Vault System
Every player has access to two types of vaults:
Game Vault (Automatic)
- Created automatically when you first play
- Server-managed — the game handles all transactions for you
- No setup required — works identically for Steam and Epic players
- Where your items live by default — all earned and purchased items go here first
- You never need to think about gas fees, wallets, or keys
Personal Vault (Optional)
- Your own SUI blockchain wallet that you control with your private keys
- You link it by signing a verification message to prove you own the wallet
- True ownership — items in your personal vault are yours on the blockchain, independent of the game
- Can be unlinked at any time without losing your game progress or Game Vault items
- Enables trading with other players through the marketplace
How It Works for Different Platforms
| Platform | Game Vault | Personal Vault | Blockchain Purchases |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam | Off-chain (no blockchain needed) | Can link a SUI wallet | Not available directly |
| Epic | On-chain SUI wallet (managed for you) | Can link a SUI wallet | Available (USDC, WARPED, SUI) |
Moving Items Between Vaults
You can transfer cosmetic items from your Game Vault to your Personal Vault:
- Select the cosmetics you want to transfer (up to 20 at a time)
- The system moves them to your personal vault on the SUI blockchain
- A small Koju fee is charged per transfer
- Once transferred, items appear in your personal vault and are tradeable
Items in your personal vault are visible in your game inventory only while your wallet is linked. If you unlink your wallet, personal vault items are hidden (but not lost — re-link to see them again).
Why Use a Personal Vault?
- True ownership — Your items exist on the blockchain, independent of the game
- Trade with other players — List items for sale in your personal kiosk
- Portability — SUI assets can theoretically be used in other SUI-compatible applications
- Transparency — All transactions are recorded on the public SUI ledger
