What Are Facilities?
Planets host facilities — structures you build to unlock system-wide bonuses. Each planet has a unique mix of facility types, and completing them benefits every player in the season.
Facility Types
| Facility | Faction | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Power Plant | Luminary | Increases the maximum rarity of mission reward drops across the entire system. The more Power Plants completed, the higher the rarity tier of Sparks and Cores you can earn. |
| Factory | Foundationalist | Increases the potential of specific item types. Each Factory is linked to an equipment type (e.g., Head armour, Rifles, Ship Cannons) and boosts the power ceiling for that type system-wide. |
| Research Facility | Luminary | Unlocks new damage-type modifiers for weapons. Completing Research Facilities expands the pool of modifier types available when applying Sparks. |
| Spaceport | Luminary | Enables colony logistics and interplanetary travel. You can set your active station at any planet with a functioning Spaceport. |
| Farm | Foundationalist | Produces resources and supports the colony’s growth. |
| Housing | Foundationalist | Supports population capacity and colony expansion. |
How Power Plants Affect Rarity
Power Plants are one of the most important facility types. The total number of completed Power Plants across all planets determines the maximum rarity of mission reward drops:

This makes early Power Plant construction a top priority for the entire player community.
How Factories Affect Item Potential
Each Factory is tied to a specific equipment type and adds to that item type’s potential — the power ceiling for gear of that kind. Higher potential means stronger items can be obtained when using Artifractal Cores.
Factory-boosted item types include: Head, Chest, Legs, Hands, Feet, Back, Mask, Body Armour, Wings, Tail, Tusks, Sail, Rifle, Shotgun, Sniper, Pistol, Ship Cannon, Ship Laser, and Ship Missile.
